About us
Built by people who got tired of taking the invoice at its word.
UK business energy bills are assembled from dozens of moving parts: contract rates, network charges that differ by region and time of day, levies that reconcile a year later, losses that depend on your meter class. Almost nobody rebuilds them, because doing it properly means maintaining the whole published charge library. That is what we set out to build.
What we believe
Four things we will not compromise on.
- A bill you cannot rebuild is a bill you cannot check.
- Comparing this month's total to last month's finds nothing except the obvious. The only honest check is to calculate what the bill should have been, from the contract and the published charges, and compare the two documents.
- Precision is not a detail.
- Rounding a rate on the way into a system destroys the evidence you need to prove it was wrong. We store what was published, exactly as published, and round only the final pence.
- Show your working, always.
- Every figure opens up to the source that produced it. A finding you cannot explain to a supplier is not a finding, and software that will not show its reasoning is asking to be trusted rather than checked.
- Say what is missing.
- When reference data does not cover a period, the system says so and holds the bill. Quietly validating against nothing and reporting a pass is the worst thing this software could do.
Independence
We are not a broker, and we do not take a share of your savings.
We are paid for the software, by you. That means the answer we give you about a bill is the same answer whether it saves you money or not, and there is no supplier relationship sitting quietly behind our advice.
Come and test the claim
Bring the bill you are least sure about. If it is right, we will tell you it is right.
